Travel Fellowships

Successful applicants will be awarded a travel fellowship to cover their expenses. The award cheque will be posted to each awardee after the main conference (ISMB/ECCB). To ensure correct processing of the award, travel fellowship recipients are required to provide the organisers with copies of relevant receipts (such as conference registration, travel expenses, hotel) during or shortly after the symposium.

  1. Funding from travel fellowship award may only cover parts of your expenses for the SCS 2018. In that case, your remaining expenses may need to be funded by other sources.

  2. Applying for a travel fellowship does not guarantee that you will receive funding. All applications will be peer reviewed.

  3. If you require a travel fellowship to attend the symposium, please do not register before you have been notified that your application has been approved.

To be eligible for the SCS’s travel fellowship, please make sure:

  1. Only the presenting author (poster/talk) will be eligible to receive a fellowship.

  2. Fellowships are not transferable.

  3. To collect a fellowship you will need to be a registered member of the The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB).

  4. All applications are deemed final at the point of submission.

  5. Once submitted, no amendments to the travel fellowship application would be possible.

  6. If you are awarded a travel fellowship by the ISCB, and/or ISMB 2018 your application for Student Council Travel Fellowship will be automatically withdrawn.
